Hydrosols Hydrosols (also called Floral Waters) are created through steam-distilling pure plant material. The essential oil of the plant sits atop the water soluble components of the plant after the steam recondenses into a liquid. The oil is skimmed off, producing a potent essential oil.  The water left is the hydrosol.  Hydrosols contain minute amounts of essential oil as well as all the water-soluble elements of the plant, producing gentle but strong healing products. They are much gentler than essential oils but are still very therapeutically active (think a tea that is 10 times brewed strength!) and very versatile as they can be used freely on the face and body, as well as on children and pets.  They do not need to be diluted prior to use, making them very user friendly (just spray where you want it!) but they mix well with other water-soluble bases, such as Aloe Vera gel or you can add them to water for compresses, baths or sprays.  They have a much lighter and sometimes different scent than the oils.  To learn more about hydrsols we reccommend "Hydrosols: The Next Aromatherapy" by Suzanne Catty, available in the shop.  All Theraroma hydrosols are organic and are preserved with .3% natural & gentle citric acid and silver citrate to prevent microbial growth.     Hydrosol  Uses  Price Calendula, Organic Calendula (Marigold) is a renowned skin healer.
